My Story

Why did you choose to run for re-election?

I chose to run for re-election for one simple reason, to keep Point Comfort a quiet and safe town for our residents.

What is your platform?

To continue to be open, honest and professional. I will continue to fight for what is right and wrong.

Main goal you would like to accomplish?

As councilman over public safety, it has always been my main goal to employee the best police officers, build a 24 hour Police Department and upgrade the Fire Station and equipment to best serve the citizens of Point Comfort and Calhoun County.

What do you see as the city’s biggest problem and what solutions do you have?

The biggest problem I see in the city is pay. I have always believed better pay will not only bring better employees but it will also keep employees. Our city is small and keeping employees not only benefits the city as a municipality but also benefits the citizens. The citizens get to know the employees and makes them feel more comfortable.

What is the city’s best asset and how can it be better utilized?

Land. We have a lot of potential to hold events at our park, fishing piers, boat ramps. It would just be a matter of investing into the city’s assets.

Why should people vote for you?

As a councilmen, I have fought to keep out a $13 million dollar project that was presented by a previous elected official and employee, which would had bankrupted the city. As a team with Chief Baxter, we have carefully screened and employed the best police officers and we would love to continue to keep crime rates low in the city. I have been a voice for the people in council meetings and I would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve the citizens of Point Comfort along with my Police Department.
