My Story
What experience or training best prepares you to serve as justice of the peace?
Over the past 35 years, I have worked with local government officials in Texas and across the United States. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Government. During and after college, I spent over seven years with Allison & Associates, representing counties and county officials while gaining extensive experience with the Texas legal trial process. I later worked with the Texas Association of Counties on legislative issues impacting county government, including helping pass the 1999 burn ban legislation. For the past 22 years, I have represented counties in the collection of delinquent taxes and court fines and fees.
How do you balance enforcement of the law with fairness and accessibility for the public?
I believe effective enforcement must be firm, fair, and transparent. The law should be applied consistently while recognizing that individual circumstances vary. Clear communication, reasonable flexibility, and access to accurate information help the public understand their obligations and available options. By balancing accountability with practical solutions, government can enforce the law while maintaining public trust and ensuring the process remains accessible and respectful for all.
What would be your top priorities if elected?
My top priorities if elected Justice of the Peace are to uphold the law fairly and impartially, ensure efficient and accessible court operations, and treat every individual with respect and dignity. I am committed to transparency, clear communication, and timely resolution of cases. I will work to balance accountability with fairness, while maintaining public trust in the justice system and ensuring the court serves the needs of the community.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
Voters should choose me because I bring a broad, experienced perspective to the Justice of the Peace court. My career has involved working with multiple courts, counties, and legal professionals across Texas, giving me a comprehensive understanding of how JP courts operate and serve the public. This wider view allows me to apply the law consistently, improve efficiency, and ensure fair treatment for everyone—not just from the perspective of a single courtroom.
